Ilam Rock is a solitary pinnacle of rock towering over the River Dove, opposite to Pickering Tor. It is approached by a footbridge over the Dove. Climbers frequently distract walkers as they ascend and descend on ropes. At the foot of the pinnacle is a cave, which appears to extend some way in. However, the entrance tapers to an uncomfortable squeeze and starts to fill up with water.
