These towering buttresses of limestone dominate Dovedale between Lover's Leap and the arch of Retard's Cave. Their lower slopes are considerably hidden by dense foliage, but the tops of the buttresses rise above the wooded canopy, giving the impression that you are passing through a deep gorge.
